Christina
M. Beck, store manager for Starbucks Coffee Company, joined Starbucks in September
1998 as a Barista. Quickly promoted to Shift Supervisor, Beck's first priority
was to develop the team around her. This development proved to be quite successful
as the team rose to win several awards including the first million dollar store
in the Michigan market. In the following year, Beck was promoted once again to
Assistant Store Manager. Beck was in this position for over a year where she continued
developing partners at various stores through out the district while implementing
exciting new programs to inspire growth and teamwork. Soon Beck was promoted to
Store Manager in 2002. As Store Manager, she is responsible for all operations
within the store. Beck focused on continuing development, teamwork, and introduced
active community involvement into the store's goals to stay in alignment with
the company mission statement.
With
a big a passion for the community Beck has teamed Starbucks with numerous non
profit organizations throughout the years. These organizations include Jewish
Literacy Foundation, Steppin' Out, United We Walk, West Bloomfield Park &
Recreation, City of West Bloomfield, Salvation Army, Detroit Public Schools, West
Bloomfield public schools, Redford public Schools, Hosanna Tabor, Walled Lake
High School, International Studies Academy, Dearborn Public Schools, St. Mary's
University, Michigan Greyhound Rescue, St. Anthony, numerous religious organizations,
West Oaks Art Board, Urban Farming, Forgotten Harvest, American Cancer Foundation,
Michigan National Guard , St. Vincent DePaul, and National Honor Society, City
of Allen Park,& many more.
Beck
has been personally recognized for her work within the community several times.
These include the Local Heroes Award FY05, 5 Bean stock Bravo Awards, several
news articles including a business profile about her career in the local papers,
and a nomination for the Community Siren's Award FY04.
