Joyce
Lapinsky joined Urban Farming as the Program Development Consultant in 2005, involved
in the expansion of the organization, its programs, strategic alliances and marketing.
She has been in the entertainment industry for over twenty years starting in her
home town of Minneapolis, and relocating to New York and Los Angeles, where she
resides with her husband, actor/comedian Richard Lewis. Joyce has an extensive
background in music publishing having been Creative Director and VP Creative at
such prestigious companies as Chappell/Intersong, Warner/Chappell, EMI, Zomba
and helped build two start-up independent publishing companies. She also ran the
music division at IAM.COM, an entertainment based Internet company, as well as
having co-produced television specials and independent films. Throughout her career
Joyce has also been an independent consultant to developing songwriters and artists,
also to companies and organizations such as NextNext Entertainment, a music and
television production company, and City Kids Foundation, a youth leadership foundation,
both located in New York City. Joyce was co-instructor of the UCLA Extension course,
The Independent Music Company; a co-founder of the organization, Los
Angeles Women In Music; participated in numerous music industry seminars and workshops
for NARAS, ASCAP, and BMI, and was a longtime volunteer for The Neil Bogart Memorial
Fund.
