Urban Farming™ is a 501 c(3) with over 64,600 gardens in 61+ countries that are a part of Urban Farming Global Food Chain®. We are excited to host our annual Urban Farming Free Plant Giveaway in May, co-hosted by Hollywood’s Home Depot, where they are providing a portion of the parking lot for the event. The event will be free and open to the public- we plan to give away thousands of vegetable plants to our first 300 attendees. The event features exhibitors that represent our Healthy Principles: Healthy Thinking, Healthy Eating, Healthy Fitness, Healthy Finance, Healthy Communication, Healthy Education, and Healthy Families.

This year Urban Farming will help support 16 Community Gardens from the Los Angeles, California area. We are supporting them by gifting them with gardening resources, plants, and other resources to help them continue their fabulous work within the community. Representatives from these gardens will attend the event!

Attendees will receive vegetable plants and will mingle table to table to interact with exhibitors, collecting giveaways, enjoying refreshments, and learning about healthy principles. There will also be a table for Gardening Tips with a Master Gardener.

Event activities include: a building project for kids offered by Home Depot; music by DJ Kevin Brown; an ongoing free raffle with items donated by Home Depot and participating supporters, dance fitness, communication games, and composting/recycling  information.

This is sure to be an unforgettable event with a lasting impact on the Health and Wellness of many in the community. Please spread the word and bring a friend!

Never grown vegetables before? Worry not, there will be a master gardener there who can answer your questions. Vegetables can thrive on windowsills and balconies if you don’t have the space for a large garden.

We are so excited and hope to see you there!
